I can safely say that this year has been the best and most exciting year of my life! I never thought I'd experience any of the things I've done or even be where I am today.
I have learnt so many new things, from shooting and editing films, to web design, to the horrors of Antichrist - these are all things that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Starting from a completely blank slate with no experience of media at all, I've thoroughly enjoyed every single thing I've learnt and everything I've done, even the wikis! My favourite module, without a doubt, has been Production Practice as this involved actually making films which I love to do.
I have also made some of the best friends ever and know we will be friends for years, reminiscing about creativity and concepts in 50 years time!
I cannot wait for next year to begin, especially for the TV studio module!
See you then!!!

Stay Fresh Liverpool
Coming to university has given me so many amazing opportunities, including a radio show with my friend James!
Our show is called 'Stay Fresh Liverpool' and we are on JMU's own radio station, Looprevil Radio. When I was asked to do it with him, I never envisioned at all it would take off like it did. IN the first semester our time slot was hellish, Wednesday mornings 10-11. If that wasn't bad enough, Tuesday was always course nights out so most of our listeners would be asleep and I would always be still drunk from going to sleep at 6am! However in the second semester we got a much better slot, Wednesdays 4-6. " hours!!! And drivetime!!!
Over the past year we've managed to go from just 5 listeners on the first show to now a regular listener base of over 20, it doesn't sound impressive but it is for Looprevil. Who'd have thought we'd be one of the most successful shows?
I've had an absolute blast doing the show and cannot wait to restart it next year, hopefully with even more listeners and an even better slot! Primetime maybe!
I've also loved the fact that we've been able to invite guests from the course onto the show as it's added a new dimension to the show so thanks to Elicia, Josie, Sam, Mark, James and Joe for all volunteering to come on and a special thanks to those who have had to be emergency guests again when we've had last minute replacement shows.
And thankyou to James for letting me co-present!

Imagine That Media Productions
As university has unfortunately ended so early, me and 4 friends decided that we wanted to continue media work over the Summer creating films so we decided to create our very own production group.
Presenting...Imagine That Media Productions!!!
Over the summer we will be producing a wide variety of short films, from documentaries to comedy shorts, striving to expand our portfolio and have a lot of fun whilst we're there. Currently there is nothing finished but we have a few top secret things already in production. The 4 friends I'm doing this with are definitely some of the best people ever so I can assure you that the stuff we make will be amazing!!!
Here's our facebook page, give it a like!!!
Stand Up Comedy
The other night I did something that I enver ever ever expected myself to do in my lifetime. At all. I'll explain...
One of my uni friends, James, does stand up comedy in his spare time as his hobby and when moving to Liverpool he decided to go one step further and create his own stand up comedy night at the local shisha bar and our regular joint, Vooo. I attended the first event to show support him and enjoy a night of jokes and I realised that I wanted to try it next time.
Fortunately I was offered the chance and after a last minute frantic joke writing session the night before, my time had came. I wasn't that nervous suprisingly until the show actually started. I was the final act in the first half and walking to the microphone felt like the longest walk ever. The next 10 minutes were a complete blur, all I know is that I enjoyed it thoroughly and want to do it again definitely.

A massive thankyou to anyone who came that night, the support was greatly appreciated!

Instagram That!
I've recently set up an Instagram account which enables me to take and edit photos on my phone wherever I am. This has expanded my photography skills and helped me see the world in a new light.

Production Practice
So this year in 'Production Practice' we've had the opportunity to make 4 films which I've found extremely exciting and thoroughly enjoyed learning the new skills. Unfortunately I only have links to 1 video currently but I will update this post as soon as the others are uploaded onto YouTube.
People On The Move
We had to create 2 minute film about a journey, ours was about a missing jigsaw piece. In this film I didn't get to gain much experience behind the camera as I was acting in the film but I did get to do point of view shots which made me realise that I would enjoy to gain more experience of filming.
It's Liverpool
The second film we had to create was as an entry into the 'It's Liverpool' competition aiming to show off one particular landmark or area of Liverpool. After a hectic last minute rush to film it all the day before it was due, we did ours on the Anglican Cathedral. In this film I gained more filming and editing the film which I was really happy about. Although I was less ecstatic about climbing to the top of the tower carrying the heavy tripod!

Personal Profile
The next film we had to produce was a short profile on a person with an interesting story to tell. My group decided that we would do it on my mum, Julie Fadden, as she has an interesting job running a housing company. It was a real learning curve for me as I conducted the whole interview myself involving me to set up the camera and microphone alone and even getting my dad to hold the boom! I found the interview process highly enjoyable causing me to think that perhaps in the future I would definitely like to conduct more interviews with people.
Factual Short
The final film we had to make was a 3-5 minute factual film on something interesting. After a lot of chasing people up we were lucky enough to be offered the chance to produce a film about Tai Chi with a very captivating woman leading the talking. Due to last minute change of hearts we could only have one contributer which was disappointing but I felt that the film was still very interesting.
